Singing and Musicianship Teaching

My philosophy is pretty straightforward: singing is about the most wonderful thing there is. It clears the mind, enlivens the body, buoys up the spirit, brings people together, creates harmony and joy.

I am delighted to teach all kinds of singing, from folk to music theatre, from rock to early music, from oratorio to opera. I make a point of allowing my students to choose their own musical direction.

Using sequencing and notation technology, I am able to provide accompaniment of repertoire, as well as examples of vocal exercises, on tape or CD, and in the latter case, also on sheet music, for students' private use.

My Qualifications

Masters of Music in Performance from the University of Melbourne, awarded August 2003

Graduate of Australian National University as from April 1999

Associate of Music Diploma

Have studied Renaissance Gesture with Helga Hill, one of the world's leading gesture experts

Former member of The Song Company, Australia's only full-time professional vocal ensemble, among other prestigious Australian outfits (see my CV for more information)

Costs

Lessons start from €30 per hour plus €5 for every 30 minutes of travel time; shorter lessons are available at a higher hourly rate.

I am able to teach in English or German, or (in a pinch) French. I would be delighted to travel to your home to teach.
